Judy teaching workshops online.
Students that have taken in-person classes for years love these live-online workshops! In-person classes and workshops can be almost impossible to see the instructor paint up close. These online classes eliminate that. Every student sees equally and up close. Every brushstroke, paint mix, mistake (yes, they happen!) and correction is there to help you learn.
Judy's workshops offer multi-camera views and editing in Photoshop. Step-by-step painting process, discussion, and reviews are part of the learning process.
Step-by-step guidance. All of Judy's workshops include her detailed explanation of painting steps - what, why, when and how she is doing it. Hear her guidance while you are painting, reminding you of points and tips.
Degree of interaction is up to you. Students are able to share their work in progress for review and guidance from the instructor. Prefer not? No worries. No matter how you want to participate, you can always join in the warmup exercises, paint-along demonstrations, and observe reviews of work others wish to share.
Workshops are recorded. Workshop sessions are automatically recorded within the meeting platform. Within 1 or 2 days, they are uploaded and shared with aIl registered students, whether they attend live or not. Recordings allow students to review techniques and tips demonstrated in class and are available online for 1 week to allow students to download them to their devices and keep.

How it Works
Students will need Internet access using an iPad, other tablet or a computer with a webcam and microphone to participate fully. Currently, classes are held in Zoom, accessible by app or website. An invitation with a link to the meeting is emailed to students. The link will take you to Judy's Zoom waiting room. The virtual classroom will open 15 minutes prior to the workshop, allowing everyone access to ensure their equipment is working and ready to go.
Every workshop and class has its own Dropbox folder. A few days prior to class, a link is shared by way of email with student registrants giving access to reference photos, drawing guides, Judy's palette colors, and more.
All workshops and classes begin with a discussion of the subject for the painting. Warm-up exercises, practice techniques, and color mixing help students understand the process before we begin our paintings. When the project begins, students are able to paint-along with the instructor. During the process, pauses allow review of student work, offering suggestions and advice on how to proceed.
Class and workshop session recordings. Recordings are shared only with registered students through a private link. This allows students to review the instruction and paint the subject a second or third time, reinforcing techniques learned during the class. It can take up to 2 days to prepare and upload the recording. It will remain online for a minimum of 1 month to allow students time to review and download it, if desired. *Please see notice below.

By registering for an online class or workshop you are aware and consent to the session recording and know that on occasion you and/or your painting may be visible during the recording process. These session recordings are copyrighted to Judy Mudd and Watercolor Designs, LLC, and are privately shared only with registered students. They must not be used for any purpose other than instructional review for the registered student. Please be aware, in most online platforms such as Zoom, you have control of your microphone and video participation on your own device or computer through the website or app and you may turn them off and on at will.

You are encouraged to use these drawing guides and reference photos as learning tools for workshop and class lessons. Use them repeatedly to develop your skills in painting. However, please be aware that these materials are copyrighted and should not be shared in any way as your own. Use them freely as a learning tool and feel free to share your paintings from class as long as they are represented as class work. Presenting these as your original work by entering them into shows, exhibits, fundraisers, etc. is prohibited and is a restriction of legitimate art societies and organizations conducting exhibits. Learn from the drawing guides, photos, and lessons and apply them to your own painting subjects; you are encouraged to share and enter your own work into shows and exhibits as much as you like!
